An international manufacturer of produce and agricultural goods is seeking a Director of Purchasing for their Chicago, IL facility. They will be responsible for implementing and applying the purchasing policy with objectives focusing on cost, deadlines, and quality. This is a strategic part of the organization who will be responsible for creating and maintaining sustainable global sourcing policy and cultivating international supplier relationships.

Job Functions:

• Creating and managing the purchasing policy within their scope
• Creating and monitoring the purchasing budget
• Building national and international supplier relationships
• Purchasing raw materials such as: fruits, vegetables, organic flavors, and natural pigments
• ERP and SRM tool management
• Management of buyers/purchasing assistants

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Agriculture, or other related fields
• 6+ years experience of agricultural raw materials procurement
• 20-30% travel
• International experience is a plus
• Management experience is a plus
